Greenshirt Modeler

In spite of the company…

...I was able to get some modeling done. And a few other things.

I finished fairing in the stand insert for my Airfix Do17.  Even primed it a bit with some RLM 02.  Since I was spraying RLM 02, I took the opportunity to spray the viewports on the top of the wing.  These must be remnants of the airliner variant.

Next is some clear bits and masking.

The leaves…like any home in the country in the mid-Atlantic coastal region, we have a lot of maples, oaks, alders, hickory, and a few more I’m not sure what the names are, but the leaves are pretty.  Most have fallen to the ground by Thanksgiving so I usually wait until this weekend to rake them up.  I had help of course from my better half and her biggest contribution was a couple of years ago.  She suggested we use a tarp to collect them and move them to the woods where they can decompose.  Genius.

My design skills have improved quite a bit.  I’m at the point where I can quickly modify an existing design I’ve downloaded to meet my specific needs.  Latest example is using a gridfinity blank to create a recessed organizer for my glass files.

They hold a Raser, and 3 Infini files in sizes Medium, Fine, and Super Fine.  Printed on my Ender 3 Pro these will now be organized, not just in a convenient bin with other stuff.

Lastly I cracked the code on Steak and Ale Pie.  I finally found the recipe with a combination of good ingredients and minimal difficulty that I could make it and not be disappointed or too exhausted to enjoy it.  My wife makes a great mash potatoes and the gravy is simply cheating (I used a packet with beef broth added instead of water).  The family enjoyed the meal with a half pint of the same ale used in the recipe.  Best steak and ale pie I’ve had outside of England.

Thanks for looking…
